This lovely Arthur Allan’s “Spinet” reel is in “as found”, used condition and has not been restored or repaired by us.
 The reel has “A. Allan Ltd. Glasgow, Spinet Reg., Pat. No. 262706” impressed in to the face of the spool.
The spool housing, gearing and handle of the reel is in brass, the spool, foot and part of the body are alloy. The reel has lost some of its’ original black painted finish.

The pigtail line pick up doesn’t automatically return when cocked. The twin screw central spring drag works fine and the ebonised handle is sturdy and well attached.

The reel still revolves fine, but it could do with a little bit of TLC to get a good smooth action.
It does haves its’ original box but this has seen better days.
This charming collectable reel has the marks and scuffs from years of use, but all adds to its’ character and charm, so evocative of times and anglers past.

１９３０年ごろのSPINETです。
前に持っていたものは、サーモンサイズなのでスプールが大きかったのですが、今回入手したものは、トラウトサイズなのです。
ボルトの長さが違うみたいです。
